The Psychology At Work Club at Jackson State University is an organization designed specifically with psychology students in mind.
The club is for psychology majors who are actively seeking opportunities to apply their knowledge of psychology to real-world situations. The goal is to cultivate learning by promoting the application of theories in a practical sense. This will be achieved via community service projects, fundraisers, and various forms of volunteering in areas that relate to psychology and that foster prosocial behaviors (i.e., tutoring, gift packages to nursing homes, etc.). Also, students will be able to visit an inpatient mental health facility, a sleep lab, and more to further experience practices, and advances in psychology and mental health. It’s a great opportunity for students to become engaged and to establish social relationships with peers.
